Detalles del libro
The arrival of the railway in 1853 confirmed picturesque Banchory as an important destination on the Royal Deeside tourist route, while in more recent years it has become an increasingly popular dormitory town for Aberdeen commuters. As well as the neat High Street, and well-loved shops such as D'Agostino's Italian ice-cream parlour, there are pictures of the Mill of Hirn, the Old Toll House at the Bridge of Feugh, an intrepid Mr Bowman diving into the Dee, and the Royal Train as it passes through the town. A horse-drawn reaper, the local lavender farm and the saw and bobbin mills illustrate other interesting aspects of the town's history.
