When Macbeth is convinced by his wife to go along on an assassination plot so that he can take the throne, three witches warn him of the tragedy that is to come. Disregarding the warnings, Macbeth ascends to the throne unprepared for the backlash that is to follow as former friends and allies seek to put a proper king on the Scottish throne.
