The first monograph dedicated to Francesco Adriano De Bonis (1820-1884), one of the greatest protagonists of photography in Rome, offers a deep analysis of his works, focusing on the formal, thematic, and technical features. Sensitive not only to ancient or modern monumental architecture, but also to the rural component of the urban landscape, he was inspired by the classic sense of order but also by the picturesque.
