Gonzalo Pérez, que vertió la Odisea al castellano, no solo fue uno de los principales protagonistas de esta interpretación político-alegórica, sino que ideó su traducción y se la ofreció a su señor Felipe II como un tratado práctico de educación principesca. Gonzalo Pérez, who translated the Odyssey into Castilian, was not only one of the main protagonists of this political and allegorical interpretation, but he also devised its translation and offered it to his master Philip II as a practical treatise on princely education.
