This volume examines the evolution, adaptation and syncretism ofAnatolian deities across a diverse range of linguistic and culturalcontexts, including Hittite, Luwian, Carian, Lycian, Phrygian andGreek traditions. Employing philological, linguistic, epigraphicand archaeological methodologies, the contributions cover a broadchronological span, from the second millennium BCE to the RomanImperial period. Key themes include prehistoric sacral hunting,the iconography of the bull, divine epithets and ritual practices,as well as the assimilation of local cults into the Greekreligious framework. Through close analysis of divine names andcultic vocabulary in both textual and material sources, the volumeoffers new insights into the processes of religious continuity, reinterpretationand localization in ancient Anatolia. It constitutes asubstantial contribution to the study of ancient religion, Anatolianand Greco-Roman studies, as well as Indo-European historicallinguistics.
